About Felicia
I have always believed in the adage that the pen is mightier than the sword – the power that words can hold is underestimated by many; truly, much of miscommunication occurs because of the poor choices we make in the words we use to express our feelings.
And then there are men, most of whom, the world is convinced should be more verbally expressive, living alongside us women who rarely stop. Both habits can be disruptive but such is the way things are.
Indeed, I take pleasure in expressing the way I think and feel in words (be it on screen or on paper) because it offers me a perspective that is only second to talking to a best friend or listening to your mother.
But since you’re reading this to find about about the author (goodness knows why) I’ll give you rest from my essay on words and life and let you read an edited version of my Friendster profile because I spent waaay too much time on that one anyway and right now, I don’t feel any more creative than I was then
If I Were To Describe Myself in 4 words:
I couldn’t. I would start of with ‘loud, long-winded, opinionated and passionate‘ but would not have stopped there
Since we’re being honest and everything, right?
I’m a regular individual but entirely unique. We may all dance to the beat of the same drum but we all do it in our own special way. I, however, cannot dance to save my life but love to do it anyway and I would like to believe trying earns you brownie points.
I am 23 going on 15; doing an Honors research project at the moment – a decision I am constantly on an emotional see saw and when it’s high its so high and when its low, well let’s just say it’s sunk pretty bad.
I have a voracious appetite for books and been reading for as long as I can remember and curling up with a good book holds more attraction for me than head banging in a foam party although I can be persuaded to do the latter with the right company
Quite obviously, blogging is a favourite past time and doing my blog rounds every morning with my coffee is now a daily routine. One day I would love to write for a living, but right now, I have obviously been led down a different path and hope to one day incorporate my passion into my career.
I have an eclectic taste, love good music and stand up comedy; my idea of an ideal good time is to chill at a jazz bar, drink coffee and bask in the ambiance of good friends. I also love the originally themed ‘rainy Friday nights’ and shower concerts.
I am a card-carrying chocoholic; it gives me a rush that is second to none. I love shopping particularly for bags and footwear – the limitation commonly lies in not having enough funds..or financiers.
I am a drama queen from the top of my head to the tip of my (painted) toenails – We have a whole neighbourhood chapter too so its not as bad as you’d think
However let’s quit the superficial stuff and move on to matters of more significance..
Jesus Christ is the meaning of my life; God is my strength, my love, my all.
My family means everything to me; they are my rock in an ever changing tide. I love my sayang, my muse; the epitome of love, affection and devotion.
I treasure my childhood friends and my saving graces; the Lab Rats from Uni *hugs*, other good friendships I’ve forged along the way – friends who give you hugs when you need them and who would slap you to protect you from yourself – I owe so much to them.
Life motto: Baby steps – one day at a time, There’s no other way to do it.
God bless.
Love, hugs and chocolate kisses,
Felicia
